ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Toby! I aim to help answer existential questions and solve global issues. I study human psychology because it intersects these two passions of mine as many existential questions relate to consciousness and all global issues have neurological roots.

Take, for example, the question of life after death. Life may be defined as a mixture of experience and action. These are the two primary functions of consciousness. Therefore one must study consciousness and what is needed to experience and act in order to discover whether or not we will have life after death.

The second insight I stumbled upon whilst doing my IB Extended Essay on eliminating single-use plastics in Singapore. I found that what is causing the problem and also offers the solution is a human bias towards convenience. Were we to leverage this bias and make it inconvenient to use single-use plastics and more convenient to use the better alternatives, plastic pollution would be mitigated. These psychological insights can be utilised to inform legislation, change behaviour and in turn solve global issues.
